Kohima, Nov. 23 (EMN):  The Kohima unit of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) conducted an ‘inter-Angami constituency meet’ on November 23 at the IG stadium in Kohima. The event also featured sporting events among the members of the units.

Speaking at the event, advisor Neikiesalie Nicky Kire said such community events can bring people together and create understandings among regions. He suggested that, “In future, if we can then not only the Kohima districts but why not include the other districts from the party.”

Kire suggested also that they should not only organise sports but other activities such as singing and “that will bring us together and will definitely benefit the party.” He suggested again to organise ‘proper two days meeting’ saying, “The more we meet the more understanding we will have and we are also there to help in whatever way possible if you need any in organizing this kind of program,” he stated.

‘Let us form a good team and make the event even greater so that we can extend the party and also this kind of tournament will keep us fit and so organise a greater program in the future,’ he said.

The programme had games too. The winners of men’s football were 15th Southern Angami-II and the runners up were 10th Northern Angami.  In the women’s volleyball match, 8th western Angami were the winners and Kohima region were the runners-up.
