Dimapur, July 17 (EMN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) of 16th Pfutsero Assembly Constituency in Phek district has declared total confidence on the leadership of its party president, Chingwang Konyak, and Nagaland chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, while also unanimously decided to support the candidature of Neiba Kronu, minister of Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, in the next state assembly elections.
NDPP of 16 Pfutsero AC also pledged its utmost allegiance to the party and its constitution and work wholeheartedly towards the success, growth and expansion of the party. The decision to this effect was taken during its general office bearers’ meeting held at TT Stadium in Pfutsero town on July 14.
Addressing the gathering, Neiba Kronu stated that the UDA government under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio is seriously working for settlement of Naga political issue as desired by all the Nagas. He added that the government is asking the Naga negotiators to bring about an early solution.
Kronu stated that Rio will continue to be the chief minister even in the next term because of which the NPF legislators have merged with NDPP.
“We want to have an absolute majority in the next elections,” he said.
With the state elections nearing, Kronu called upon the party workers not to be swayed by different political parties, which would come with their own manifestos and assurance to fulfill immediately.
A third-time MLA from the constituency, Kronu said he has been making best efforts in bringing all round development for the Pfutsero constituency in particular and Phek district in general despite being the lone minister from the district.
Senior NDPP leader, K Puro, called upon the party workers to stay loyal to the party ideology and principles and work in unison to expand the party. He also called upon the people to support Neiba Kronu and get him elected again in the next state assembly elections.
Youth president of NDPP Phek region, Merhaso Pfüno, requested the party workers to strengthen the leadership of Kronu and access the fruits of development.
