MOKOKCHUNG — Mokokchung region of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) held a felicitation-cum-handing and taking over charge of leaders held at the residence of its treasurer on Saturday.
On the occasion, six NDPP legislators from Mokokchung district and DAN chairman Dr. Watizulu Suzumeren Jamir, along with the new district president, Mangyangnungba, were also felicitated. The incumbent region president, N Bendang Jamir, was recently promoted to the post of working president of NDPP Nagaland.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Speaking at the function, TN Manen, advisor of Law and Justice and Land Revenue, stated that delimitation of constituencies in state projected to be exercised by 2026 should be thoroughly studied. He suggested that Mokokchung town which consisted of 18 Wards should be made into a constituency instead of slicing to other constituencies.
He also stated that as a ruling party, the party workers should discharge their responsibility and duties to sensitise on government policies and schemes to the people.
“We are not kings; we are your representatives... let us show the people that we are capable of doing something for the people,” he said.
Temjenmemba, advisor of Transport and Technical Education, informed that the Ao legislators have deliberated on the need for a ring road, water supply, up-gradation of IMDH and sports academic in honour of Dr. T Ao. He, therefore, sought the support of the party workers and public to accomplish the dreams.
Also speaking on the occasion, Imkongmar, advisor of Minority Affairs and Sericulture, urged the party workers to be the pillars for the party to strengthen the representatives.
The handing-over of charge to the incoming president was administered by Pangerzulu , treasurer NDPP Mokokchung Region.
