Dimapur, April 4 (EMN): The 34th Aghunato assembly constituency unit of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) organised a Lok Sabha election rally, on April 3 at Aghunato town in Zunheboto district.
A press release from the unit on Thursday that Pukhayi Sumi, the advisor for Food & Civil Supplies, accompanied by party workers from Zunheboto region attended the event.
Speaking at the meeting, Pukhayi Sumi was stated to have thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for fielding a candidate from the Sumi community for the Lok Sabha elections for 2019.

According to the press release, he said that the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA ) government was ‘stable’ and ‘possesses a bright future.’

Sumi urged the people to be ‘wise and vote for NDPP candidate Tokheho Yepthomi for more development and progress,’ the updates stated.

Sumi also informed that seven legislator from the Naga People’s Front (NPF) withdrew their support and joined the PDA govt. ‘owing to their party’s disorganised system.’

“NPF party forming alliance with Congress will not prove fruitful,” Sumi was quoted in the press release as having told the gathering.

The president of the district’s NDPP, Khehoshe Yeptho also addressed the event. He urged the electorate to ‘vote for a capable leader who can represent the people in the parliament with vigour.’ He requested the Aghunato public to support Tokheho Yepthomi, the NDPP’s candidate to the Lok Sabha.

The president of the district’s BJP unit, Shikuto Achumi, also addressed the programme. According to the press release, he said that the BJP government ‘is about to retain power in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.’ He exhorted the Aghunato electorate to ‘bring better results, and boost name and fame for Pukhayi Sumi so as to achieve more developments,’ the press release stated.
