NDPP lauds Nagaland’s successful hosting of 3rd North East Games

DIMAPUR — The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) congratulated the Government of Nagaland and the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA), led by Chief Minister and President of NOA, Neiphiu Rio, for successfully hosting the 3rd North East Games (NEG) from March 18 to 23.

In a press statement, the NDPP stated that despite the challenges, the successful conclusion of the games demonstrates the efforts made by the NOA and the department of Youth Resources and Sports in ensuring that all venues, including the Games Village, were prepared to meet the needs and requirements of all athletes and players representing the Northeastern states.

It lauded the president and Secretary General of NOA, Abu Metha, “for their dexterity in ensuring not just the games being held successfully but also that all the athletes were hosted in the true Naga way of warmth and care throughout the period of the games.”

The NDPP also congratulated all the athletes and players from Nagaland for achieving the runner-up position in the medal tally, noting that it demonstrates the state’s sportsmen and women are on par with the top athletes of the country. Additionally, the party acknowledged and congratulated the participating states and their athletes.

The NDPP appreciated all the people of Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Kohima districts for having been the perfect hosts throughout the period.

The NDPP Central Youth Organisation also congratulated the NOA for successfully hosting the 3rd North East Games and praised Rio and Metha.

 It extended congratulations to all the athletes and sportspersons who brought glory to team Nagaland and wished them the best in their future sporting careers.
