NDPP inaugurates 3 Dimapur-III AC office

DIMAPUR — President of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Chingwang Konyak, on Saturday inaugurated the party’s office under 3 Dimapur-III Assembly Constituency (AC) at Naharbari near Raj Pukhuri.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, Konyak has welcomed the 33% reservation for women, which was recently passed in the Parliament. He expressed hope that the historic decision would provide more opportunities for women to participate actively in politics and governance, an update from the advisor to Commerce and Industries stated.

The NDPP secretary general, Abu Metha, stated that 3 Dimapur-III AC has created history after six decades and praised the chief minister for allocation the portfolio of Industries and Commerce department to Hekani Jakhalu, the elected candidate from 3 Dimapur-III AC, by recognising as the economic powerhouse of the state.

He urged the party members to be supportive stating that women leaders are instrumental in fostering integrity, peace, and unity in politics. He also called for unity of the entire constituency, cutting across all affiliations, as the constituency reflects the rich diversity of Nagaland and India.

Metha further stated that the constituency has tremendous potential to contribute to the growth of Nagaland and affirmed that the party would collectively strive towards making it a model constituency.

Meanwhile, Hekani Jakhalu, spoke about her commitment to the people and the party. She emphasised that her first priority after winning the election was to establish a party office, underlining the importance of a strong organisational presence.
