NDPP Dimapur Region inducts new office bearers
DIMAPUR — The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Dimapur Region held a consultative meeting-cum-induction programme of new office bearers in various assembly constituency levels in Chümoukedima on Tuesday.
It was held under the leadership of senior vice president, NDPP Central Executive Board, and Convener of Dimapur Region, Charlie Sekhose. According to a press release, the meeting was chaired by the region president, Vihoshe Awomi.
It said that former independent candidate V Phushika Awomi, along with his supporters, who registered over five hundred active members, were officially welcomed during the programme.
Awomi, who was also a former vice president of the NPF CHQ, stated in his speech that President Chingwang Konyak’s vision for the party and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s leadership inspired him to join the NDPP.
Zhaleo Rio, MLA and Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, termed it a big booster for the NDPP and PDA candidate, Dr. Chumben Murry, for the upcoming Lok Sabha election, which is at the doorstep.
Earlier in the programme, Sekhose read out the NDPP membership pledge and gave a brief exhortation before coronating the newly appointed officials.
