Dimapur, March 25 (EMN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) delegation on Thursday called on the president of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Minister, Atul Bora, at Bokakhat in Assam and conveyed the party’s solidarity with its North East Democratic Alliance (Neda) ally in the upcoming state assembly elections.
An update from the NDPP informed that the delegation also conveyed solidarity message to the AGP on behalf of Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and the president of the party, Chingwang Konyak.
The NDPP expressed its hope that the common aspirations of the people of the region and regional identity would be upheld through collective teamwork of regional parties in the interest of nation building. It also wished success to its alliance partner in the state — BJP — in the Assam assembly elections.
The NDPP and AGP are members of Neda and the latter is in a pre-poll alliance with the BJP and its ally in the incumbent government.
“AGP President, Mr. Atul Bora observed that NDPP leader Mr. Neiphiu Rio is one of the tallest regional leaders and expressed his gratitude to the NDPP for the morale support and solidarity,” read the press release, adding that Bora appreciated the gesture of NDPP.
The NDPP delegation was led by the party’s Secretary General, Abu Metha along with Treasurer Dr. John Murry and others.
