Patton pledges peace, development under the leadership of Rio

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Sunday asserted that the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) coalition was “rock solid”, and urged the people of Nagaland to “ignore rebel candidates” who were misleading the public.

In a show of unity, Rio appealed to voters in a video message to cast their votes in favour of the NDPP and BJP, adding that both parties were “fully cooperating and supporting” each other’s candidates.

Meanwhile,Deputy CM Y Patton expressed confidence that the NDPP-BJP alliance would form the next government with a “thumping majority” in the upcoming election.

He further pledged to usher in an era of peace and fast track development under the leadership of CM Rio.

BJP national secretary, Rituraj Sinha and NDPP secretary general Abu Metha were also present in the video.

Later in a Twitter update, Rituraj Sinha, also said the deputy chief minister had asserted that the NDPP-BJP alliance would have a “thumping victory” in the Assembly election.
