[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he ongoing NCYM convention entered its 3rd day today which began with an Ecumenical Meet where representatives from different denominations took part.
The chief guest, Francis Ngajokpa, Minister, Rural Development &Panchayati Raj, Economics & Statistics, Govt. of Manipur in his address to the congregation spoke on two main points: ‘Sermon on the Mount’ which is also the theme of the convention and his life testimony. Citing his own example of how he stuck to his principles and righteousness even in public life as a leader and even in the face of threats. He appealed to all Catholics to lead a just, righteous and faithful life and be an example to others. K. Elias Lotha IPS, DIGP (HQ), Nagaland Police was the guest of honour for the variety evening.A representative each from Baptist, NCRC, Hindu and Catholic took part in the meet and shared about their faith and participated in the interaction session. The Jubilee Mass, which is the most important part of the convention began at 10 a.m. with Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil as the main celebrant.
After the service, the new NCYM office bearers for the tenure 2015-2018 were blessed and commissioned. The team will be led by Regina Razousinuo as President, Modochuo Martin Chadi, Vice President, L. Hievinu Olivia Richa, Gen. Secy., Sekhotso Samuel, Joint Secy., Kekhrieneinuo Catherine Zumvü, Treasurer, Regina Kithan, Spokesperson, Zeneikho Benedict, Representative to NERYC (M) and Limasangla Jamir, Representative to NERYC (F).
A special number was presented by the Mary Help of Christian Cathedral Parish choir, which was followed by an inspiring and captivating talk from Mario Joseph. The winners of the Quartet Competition from Mary Help of Christian Cathedral Parish presented a special number.
Felicitation programme was held for the chief guest Francis Ngajokpa, Bishop, Ex-office bearers of the NCYM and Sister Lidia, Superior of Little Flower Convent.
Various delegates presented dances, songs and other items to warm up the convention, which also kept most of the spectators on their feet. The convention will be coming to an end tomorrow, when the delegates will return back to their respective places after the morning mass and meal.
