NCWA for meaningful family life in 2014

The Nagaland Catholic Women’s Association (NCWA) held its annual executive meeting on January 7 in the Bishop Abraham Memorial Hall, Kohima. According to a press release, women representatives from all over Nagaland participated in it.The meeting commenced with the reading of the Word of God by Ms Floret Sekhose, Gen. Sec. of NCWA. Ms. Gwanile Femy invoked God’s blessings for the success of the meeting. In her welcome address NCWA president, Mrs. Aney Kath encouraged the delegates to go ahead with the various NCWA activities and thus continue serving the society in various districts of the state.
2014 being the ‘Year of the Family’ Sr. Sandra SCCG, Women Coordinator, enlightened the participants on the family’s role in wiping out HIV/AIDS from the Naga society by teaching children and youth to ‘live a meaningful life’. She exhorted adults to come down to the level of the youth and to walk with them in their hazardous journey of life.
The NCWA executive meeting chalked out its major programmes and projects for 2014. Some of the major proposals of this meeting included: to amend the NCWA Constitution according the needs of the present times, to organize regional seminars in different areas of the state, to encouraged members to be at the side of the people especially in their moments of crises, proposed to organize fund raising activities to assist people in their dire needs, and decided to plan well for the NCWA Convention to be held in 2016.
