Dimapur, June 15 (EMN): The Nagaland Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) on Thursday iterated its demand for cancellation of all contract works in the government departments in the State that were issued without flooding proper tender process.
In a press release sent on Thursday, the NCSU stated that they demand the “cancellation of work order issued without flooding Open Tender in various Governments Departments in the State.”
It stated that is has time and again reminded the state government to follow the
“Government Standing orders vide No. (1) AR-13/2/85 dated the 13th December 1985 (2) vide No. GAB/1CUM/43/86 dated 30th June 1986, (3) vide No. Bud/8-7/95-96 dated 4th October 1995.” so that contract works are done only through proper “open” tendering system and to issue work orders only to NCSU identity card holders.
The union however stated that major contract and supply works are being awarded to “non-local” by depriving local contractors by what it termed as “table tender” system undermining the standing orders of the government.
It therefore cautioned all the heads of departments to follow the government order so as to avoid legal action against erring officials and confrontations.
The press note was appended by Tseibou Khusoh Vice President, and John Kath General Secretary of the NCSU.
