NCS probationers trained on public speaking

Dimapur, July 19 (EMN): In order to train the officer trainees for successful public speaking, training on “Performance and Speech” was conducted for the first time in Administrative Training Institute for the Nagaland Civil Service Probationers of 2015 Batch on the July 17.
Assistant Professor, Department of English of Kohima College and Founder of Kohima Academy of Dramatic Arts, Theyiesinuo Keditsu, was the resource person for the day. In her speech she differentiated the personality and persona. She said personality is a combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual’s character or make and individual unique, while persona is the personality that a person adopts and presents to other people; the aspect of someone’s character that is presented to or perceived by others.
The one day module included theoretical and practical exercises on breathing, voice projection, modulation, tone/rhythm/pitch and delivery; body language; observation, focus, and the art of concentration.
Besides probationers, some officers of ATI also attended the programme.
