The national general secretary of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and spokesperson in-charge of Northeast, Narendra B Verma, released the party election manifesto on February 17 at Hammock Resort in New Wokha Village in presence of Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe, NCP candidate of 38 Wokha AC, and party workers.

Speaking at the programme, Verma stated that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s regime would soon come to an end as inflation and unemployment in the country has reached its peak with major recession in the market. He claimed that Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and UP have rejected the BJP government and would lose its aura in many more states.

He accused the BJP government under Modi leadership for putting the lives of farmers at risk, while on the contrary the NCP supremo, Sharad Pawar, who himself is a farmer, worked for farmers’ welfare and waive off their debts during his tenure as union Agriculture minister.

He stated that NCP is pro-women and a secular political party where it has set 50 percent reservation for women in panchayat (local self-government) and also recruited women into navy, armed and air forces.

He affirmed that NCP is determined to strengthen the government machinery and administration in ensuring good governance and administration in tune with various development visions. He informed that the policies of NCP are directed towards socio-political and economic development of Nagaland. He added that the party is committed to uphold and protect all aspects for the interest and progress of Nagaland.

Also speaking on the occasion, Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe, informed that the party has allotted 12 tickets to eminent personalities and expressed confidence that it would secure 100 percent victory. He has expressed gratitude to the party supremo, Sharad Pawar, and Narendra B Verma, and assured that NCP in the state would shine and progress in the upcoming Nagaland legislative assembly election.
