DIMAPUR — The Naga Christian Fellowship (NCF) Chennai marked a significant milestone on November 10 as it celebrated its 39th foundation day alongside cultural Sunday at CSI St. Matthias Church, Chennai.
In a press release, the NCF Chennai informed that the event drew a diverse congregation coming together to honour the legacy of past leaders and members, while looking forward to a promising future.
The speaker for the event, Avinu Veronica Richa, an assistant professor at Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, addressed the packed audience and emphasised the importance of culture in shaping identity and fostering unity.
“Culture should be an agent of unity and preserve it for our own identity,” she said, urging attendees to embrace their cultural heritage while inspiring connection within the community.
In a tribute to the past leaders and members, including well-wishers of NCF Chennai, Pastor Wapangtoshi encouraged those present to build upon the foundation laid by their predecessors.
“Together, we can build on the foundation that has been established, strengthening our bonds, expanding our outreach, and deepening our faith. We have the power to transform lives and spread hope — let’s not take that responsibility lightly,” he proclaimed.
He also led the congregation in a prayer dedicated to NCF Chennai’s foundation day.
The programme, chaired by Sousaleo Alex Chao, was enriched by special songs performed by the mothers and Imsuchila Pongen, bringing a touch of joy and celebration to the day’s proceedings.
“The event not only celebrated NCF Chennai’s rich history but also reinforced the commitment to community building and spiritual growth. As members reflected on the contributions of those who came before them, there was a renewed sense of purpose and responsibility for the journey ahead,” the release added.
