NCC Kohima Group celebrates raising day

Dimapur, Nov. 22 (EMN): NCC cadets of 24 Nagaland (Independent) company under the aegis of Kohima Group celebrated its 72nd Raising Day on November 22 by organising various activities such as tree plantation, run for health, painting competition, cleanliness drive etc.

An update from the commanding officer of NCC 24 Nagaland (I) Coy, Col. Daniel Lotzem, stated that the celebration in all the institutions started with hoisting of National flag followed with various activities across the state. He added that all NCC officers and cadets took part with zeal and enthusiasm in the event.

It stated that all the cadets enthusiastically participated in spreading awareness against the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic, necessity to be vigilant, and also generate a sense of patriotism amongst all NCC cadets.

It added that ‘Run for health’ was also organised jointly by Japfu Christian College and Kigwema GHS. The aim of the run was to spread message on the importance of regular physical exercise and create awareness among family and friends about the need for keeping oneself fit and lead a healthy life.

Besides, a large number of medicinal and ornamental plants were also planted by cadets of Kohima Science College. The cadets were also explained on the importance of maintaining the delicate environmental balance.

Later, Col. Daniel Lotzem, on behalf of Group Commander Brigadier Vengugopal and all officers of Kohima Group NCC, extended his appreciation to all participating NCC officers, cadets and the Forest department, Kohima division, for providing tree-saplings.
