Dimapur, Oct. 3 (EMN): NCC Cadets of 1 Nagaland Girls Bn NCC, Kohima, had participated in the nation-wide campaign on ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa (SHS)’ from September 15 to October 2 with an aim to intensify the awareness and create an environment of cleanliness across the country.
The SHS programme culminated on October 2 with a prize distribution ceremony for essay writing and film making on Swachh Bharat wherein NCC Cadets from St. Joseph College, Jakhama, Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Kohima, and St. Mary Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Lerie, secured first three positions respectively. The entire exercise further motivated the NCC cadets to raise awareness amongst the general population and also to carry out cleanliness drives in the neighbourhood.
SHS exercise launched across the nation encompassed cleanliness drives, mass awareness rallies, speeches, poster making, seminars, theme based skits and cleaning of statues wherein approximately 4000 NCC girl cadets participated.
Col Rajeev Kumar, Commanding Officer of 1 Nagaland Girls Bn NCC, informed that approximately 70 institutions comprising schools and colleges in all 11 districts of Nagaland affiliated to the unit for NCC activities wholeheartedly participated in the campaign.
