NCC cadets witness weapon display

Assam Rifles personnel display modern weapons to NCC cadets at Tetso College in Dimapur on March 5.

Dimapur, March 6 (EMN): NCC cadets who are currently undergoing a five-day combined annual training camp (CATC-114), at Tetso College in Dimapur witnessed a weapon display organised by 5 Assam Rifles battalion on March 5.

An update from NCC stated that the commanding officer of 24 Nagaland (I) Coy NCC, Kohima, Col. Daniel Lotzem and an approximate 110 NCC cadets from both senior division of 24 Nagaland (I) Coy and senior wings of 1 Naga Girls Battalion of Kohima NCC Group enthusiastically participated in the weapon display.

It stated that the cadets were explained on various weapons of the Indian army by instructors of 5 Assam Rifles battalion. It added that the weapon display has motivated the cadets to take up armed forces as a career.

On behalf of Brig. K Venugopal, group commander of Kohima NCC, Col. Daniel Lotzem has expressed gratitude to Col. Md Raza Israil, commanding officer, and all ranks of 5 Assam Rifles for organising the weapon display to NCC cadets.

It may be mentioned that the five-day combined annual training camp (CATC-114), a ‘C’ certificate camp, hosted by Tetso College got underway on March 2.

On the first day of the camp, proper thermal screening of the cadets was conducted upon their arrival followed by drill. A lecture on national integration (religion, culture, tradition and customs of India) was delivered by Lt. Kikon, while briefing of the cadets was conducted by the officer commanding Col. Daniel Lotzem.

The report stated that cadets have participated in various activities such as drill, map reading, field craft and battle craft, weapons training, military history, communications, firing, and guest lectures during the training.
