NCAP awareness campaign held in Dimapur Government College
DIMAPUR — The Green Campus Committee of Dimapur Government College (DGC), in collaboration with the Dimapur district administration, organised an awareness campaign on the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) on Thursday. The event aimed to raise awareness about air quality issues and promote sustainable practices for cleaner air in the city.
Delivering the keynote address, Dimapur district commissioner Dr. Tinojongshi Chang emphasised the importance of the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) and its objectives in tackling the increasing concern of air pollution, according to an update.
He also highlighted the government’s commitment to reducing air pollution and encouraged the youth to take an active role in promoting sustainable development within their communities.
At the event, Nyamnyei Konyak, a third-semester BA student, presented on the activities of the Green Campus Committee. He outlined the various initiatives undertaken by the committee to enhance the college campus’s environmental sustainability, focusing on eco-friendly practices, waste management, plantation drives, and environmental awareness campaigns.
After the formal proceedings, three ficus trees were planted in the old campus as a symbolic gesture to promote a cleaner and greener environment.
