NBSE to conduct webinar on child online safety

Dimapur, Nov. 18 (EMN):
The Nagaland Board of School Education(NBSE) has requested all the heads of registered institutions to register for the webinar “Learn how to keep your child safe online” on November 21 at 7 pm.

A circular issued on November 18 stated that the Covid pandemic has changed “our lives and our ways of engaging with our children, nevertheless, all have stayed string and resilient through these tough times”.

It said that, as educators, they have adopted online platforms to ensure education for children during this unprecedented times, but “as we engage children online, we also need to ensure their safety”.

It further informed that the board has organised a webinar in collaboration with Safety Troop- an organisation working in the area of child online safety, on the topic “Learn how to keep tour child safe online”. It also stated that the webinar would feature expert Leah Plunkett, author, faculty associate, BKCIS at Harvard University and special director for online education, Harvard Law School and Dr. Teena Augustine Joseph, chief development officer, Safety Troop.

It informed that the webinar would highlight tips to ensure that child’s identity is safe online, safe sharing practices while engaging in social media, and challenges online while sharing personal information of children.
