DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) will conduct the HSLC and HSSLC compartmental and improvement examinations simultaneously from June 11 to the 21st.

According to a DIPR report, 3,006 students have enrolled for the HSLC compartmental examination, and 81 students have enrolled for the improvement examination. The examinations will be conducted in 18 centres at the district headquarters, including Pungro sub-division.

For the HSSLC, 1,703 students have enrolled for the compartmental examination, and 77 students are enrolled under improvement of performance. Candidates have been allotted to 17 examination centres across the state.

The stream-wise statistics for the compartmental examinations are as follows: Arts – 1,227; Commerce – 62; and Science – 414. For the improvement examination, the breakdown is Arts – 8 and Science – 69.

The report mentioned that, in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the National Credit Framework (NCrF) emphasises implementing a credit transfer policy across different education levels.

With this principle in focus, the eligibility criteria for the HSLC and HSSLC compartmental examinations and improvement of performance have been increased from three to four subjects, starting with the 2024 examination.

Candidates who have failed in four or fewer subjects in the HSLC and HSSLC examinations of 2024 are permitted to take the compartmental examinations.

Eligible compartmental candidates have two opportunities to clear the subjects they need improvement in or have failed. A candidate who has passed the HSLC and HSSLC examinations in 2024 and wishes to enhance their performance is permitted to take the improvement examinations in four or fewer subjects.

Candidates who were successful in the HSLC examinations but have received a ‘needs improvement’ grade in one subject are provided with the chance to reappear in that specific subject at the immediate examination.

On June 3, the board conducted an online meeting with all the centre superintendents to address pertinent issues regarding the fair and smooth conduct of the examinations.

Furthermore, it was informed that the statistics booklets have been uploaded to the board’s portal. Students who have enrolled for the HSLC and HSSLC compartmental and improvement examinations have been urged to verify their examination centres at www.nbsenl.edu.in and obtain their admit cards from their respective examination centres.
