DIMAPUR — With an aim to strengthen the roots of democracy, inculcate healthy habits of discipline, develop tolerance of divergent views and familiarise the student community with the procedures and functioning of parliament, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has requested the students to participate in the youth parliament competitions.
In a notification, the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) informed that registration for the 4th edition can now be accessed on the National Youth Parliament Scheme (NYPS) portal at https://nyps.mpa.gov.in/.
All the recognised educational institutions of the board could register on the portal and organise youth parliament sittings. Institutions are directed to visit the website https://nyps.mpa.gov.in/ for queries regarding eligibility, registration of institutions to web-portal and resources for conducting the competition.
NBSE further informed all the head of institutions to disseminate the information to the students and encourage them to participate in NYPS.
Vishwaroop education to organise Olympiad
Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has informed all the registered institutions that Vishwaroop Education would organise an Olympiad based on ‘Constitution and Social Sciences.’
It stated that the Olympiad, featuring 24 illustrations of various constitutional aspects, aims to educate students about constitutional values and key provisions, while instilling qualities like patriotism, honesty and dedication.
It informed that the first round of the Olympiad would be held on November 26 coinciding with the 75th Constitution Day, while the second round would be held between December 25 and December 31 coinciding with Christmas and the martyrdom day of the sons of Guru Gobind Singh and the final round on January 11, 2025, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The award ceremony would be conducted on the birthday of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
