NBSE notifies on ‘Fit India Quiz’
Dimapur, June 8 (EMN): Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has notified that the Fit India Mission under the aegis of Sports Authority of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports India, has decided to launch ‘Fit India Quiz’ for schools across the country in the month of June 2021.
The objective of the quiz is to create awareness about fitness and sports among the school children and also provide a national platform to showcase their knowledge about fitness and sports. It also aimed at creating awareness among students about India’s rich sporting history, including centuries-old indigenous sports, national and regional sporting heroes of the past and how traditional Indian lifestyle activities hold the key to a fit life for all.
It is the first national-level quiz for students in which a total cash award of INR 3.25 crore would be given out to schools and students. The event would also be telecast on Star Sports as well as on national TV channels, a DIPR report stated.
The quiz would include four rounds namely school round, preliminary round, state round and national round.
School Round: To be conducted by the school to register the school students for the preliminary round.
Preliminary Round: To be a multiple-choice online round conducted by the national testing agency (India’s premiere examination body that conducts national-level exams such as JEE and NEET). The country-wide quiz would be organised in 13 languages for the benefit of students studying in regional-medium schools.
State Round: To be conducted by each state/ UTs with the support from FIT India Mission amongst schools qualified after the preliminary round. This round would be anchored by a professional quiz master and be webcast on social media.
National Round: Final round in which the winning team of each state/ UT would participate and fight for the top title of the national winner of Fit India Quiz 2021.
It stated that the grand event would be hosted by Fit India icons. All the heads of registered institutions are directed to inform the students to ensure maximum participation from their respective schools to make the unique programme a success.
