NBSE notifies on ‘Fit India Quiz’

Dimapur, Aug. 31 (EMN): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has notified that the second edition of ‘Fit India Quiz’ was launched on August 29 on the occasion of the National Sports Day to popularise fitness as a way of life among citizens.

NBSE informed that the ‘Fit India Movement’ was launched in 2019. Realising the need to further create awareness about fitness and sports among school children, it stated that the Fit India Mission under the aegis of Sports Authority of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, decided to launch the second edition of Fit India Quiz for schools after the huge success of the first edition. It informed that registration for participation from schools would begin from September 3 on Fit India website https://fitindia.gov.in.  

The objective of the quiz was to provide a national platform for students to showcase their knowledge about fitness and sports and endeavours in its philosophy to create awareness among students about India’s rich sporting history including centuries-old indigenous sports as well as the national and regional sporting heroes of the past and how traditional Indian lifestyle activities hold the key to a fit life for all.

The quiz is the national-level for students which would give out a total cash award of INR 3.25 crore to schools and students. The event would also be telecast on Star Sports as well as on national TV channels.

The four rounds of the quiz would include school round, preliminary round, state round and national round.

It informed that the school round would be conducted by the school to select students for registration in the Fit India Quiz preliminary round. It should be the responsibility of the school to encourage maximum participation of students in the Fit India Quiz 2022.

The preliminary round, a multiple-choice online round, would be conducted by the national testing agency (India’s premiere examination body that conducts national-level exams such as JEE and NEET). The country-wide quiz would be organised in 13 languages for benefit of students studying in regional-medium schools.

The state round would be conducted by each state/ union territory with the support from FIT India Mission from among the schools qualified after the preliminary round. This round would be anchored by a professional quiz master and be telecast on Fit India Mission social media handles.

The national round would be the final in which the winning team of each state/ union territory would participate and fight for the top title of the national winner of Fit India Quiz 2022. First runner-up and second runner-up prizes would also be decided.

All the heads of registered institutions are directed to inform the students to ensure maximum participation from their respective schools and make the programme a success.
