NBSE notifies about national achievement survey

Dimapur, Dec. 13 (EMN): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has notified that the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) shall be conducting National Achievement Survey (NAS) for class X cycle-2 through National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
Through NAS, it sought to gain an in-depth insight into the learning outcomes/levels of the students across varied geographies in the states so that the government can design policies and action plans accordingly for improving the quality of education.
The major objectives of the project survey are:
To study the achievement levels of students of class X in 4 subjects i.e. English, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences.
To study the difference in achievement levels with regard to area, gender, social group, Board and management of schools.
To study the effect of intervening variables like students’ home background, school and teacher etc. on achievement levels of students.
For the state of Nagaland, the NBSE has been entrusted to conduct the survey in the 419 (four hundred nineteen) selected schools. The list of selected schools is made available on the Board’s website (www.nbsenagaland.com). The survey will be conducted on the present class X students who will be appearing the ensuing HSLC Examination 2018.
The NAS shall be conducted on Feb. 5 uniformly throughout the country. As such, the selected schools are informed to be prepared for the conduct of the survey in their respective school.
The survey materials provided by the NCERT shall be given out by the board to the district coordinators. The selected schools shall collect the materials from the respective district coordinator.
