Dimapur, Oct. 26 (EMN): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has asked all institutions registered under NBSE to organise ‘Unity Run’ to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on October 31.
NBSE, in an update, informed that as per the directive of Ministry of Education, the ‘Unity Run’ may be organised in all the schools across the country for all the classes and age groups.
It informed that students may run for short distance/long distance as per their feasibility and convenience, while the Run may precede/coincide with the morning assembly/ zero period/ start of day in schools preferably at 7-8 am on October 31.
Wherever possible either at start and/ or end of run, it stated that the principal or senior faculty member(s), students may speak about Sardar Patel and his role in national integration.
It also urged the schools/ college magazines, websites, WhatApps groups of all classes to give adequate publicity to the event, adding wherever feasible, families of students, local community should be asked to join the run.
As a special outreach, it informed that attempt should be made to ensure participation of street children, children from marginalized areas (including Children with Special Needs) etc. in the run.
It stated that the photos of the activity should be uploaded on social media with #RunForUnity. In addition, activities such as debates, speeches on Sardar Patel's contribution in uniting India may be also be organised in all the schools across the state.
Further, the digital version of the content created for the exhibition may be shared through the social media platforms and schools' websites with all the students.
All institutions have been requested to organise the activities and submit the report to unityrunnagaland@gmail.com on or before November 1, 2022, for onward submission to the Ministry of Education, Government of India, it stated.
