NBSE declares HSLC, HSSLC results

WHILE boys fared better in HSLC Examination 2014, girls outshone boys in the HSSLC Examination 2014 conducted by Nagaland Board of Secondary School, the results of which were declared today.
In the HSLC Examination, qualified percentage of boys was 66.63% and that of girls was 63.73%. The overall qualified percentage in HSLC Examination saw a marginal increase in pass percentage from 63.51% in 2013 to 65.19% this year.However, among the top 50 rank holders, out of 109 students, girls outshone boys by securing 62 positions while boys got 47 positions.
This year two students from government schools figured in the list of top 50 – Government High School, Botsa at 7th position and Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima at 9th position.
Out of 14131 qualified students 42.70% students secured 60% and above. Forty schools secured 100% qualified/pass percentage while, on the other hand, 26 schools showed zero/nil result.
In terms of district-wise performance, Peren district topped the table for government schools with a percentage of 49.11% followed by Kohima district 47.80% and Phek district 43.34%.
In respect of private schools, Kohima district is at the top with a percentage of 82.35% followed by Mokokchung 80.92% and Phek 79.75%.
Among government schools having 100+ enrolment in Class 10, Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima secured the highest qualified percentage of 73.08%
In HSSLC Examination 2014, the girls outshone the boys by securing a pass percentage of 77.10% while the boys pass percentage is 72.21%. This year, the number of students securing 60% and above rose to 2877 from 1666 in 2013.
In the Arts stream, the pass percentage this year rose to 71.89% from 65.14% in 2013. Twelve institutions secured 100% result while three schools shown zero/nil result.
In the top 10 rank holders, the girls again did better than the boys in Arts and Commerce. In Arts stream, out of 12 rank holders, eight were girls. Similarly, in Commerce stream, 10 were girls out of 13 rank holders. However, the boys captured the slot in Science stream by securing nine positions out of 11.
A girl student from Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung secured the 10th rank under Commerce stream.
