The NBSE notifies eligible HSLC and HSSLC candidates to fill up application forms for the compartmental and improvement examinations.

KOHIMA — The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has notified the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) candidates who are eligible for the compartmental examination and improvement examination to fill up the application forms from May 11 to the 16th.
Candidates failing to do so will not be eligible to appear for the HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2027 for the improvement of performance, since this examination is permissible for one chance only.
This was informed through a notification signed by Rangumbuing Nsarangbe, Secretary and Chairperson for NBSE (Additional Charge), on Thursday.
Earlier, the department had informed that the HSLC and HSSLC compartmental examination and improvement examination will be conducted from June 9 to the 20th.

It was informed to the eligible candidates to fill up the application form online through the NBSE portal (nbsenl.edu.in) from May 11 to the 16th by paying a fee of INR 600 per subject for HSLC and INR 650 per subject for HSSLC.
A successful candidate at the main HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2026 or a candidate who qualified at the main HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2026 but failed in one subject is also eligible to sit for the improvement examination to be conducted in June.
It was further updated that the improvement of performance is permissible for one chance only, and therefore, if a candidate fails to fill out the form for this compartment or improvement examination, they will not be eligible to appear for the HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2027 for the improvement of performance.
Therefore, the heads of institutions have been asked to carefully verify the forms and make the payment. It was also directed to the students to surrender their original admit cards and marksheets to the school or centre from where their forms are being verified for onwards submission to the board.
After which the school and centre can submit the original admit card and marksheets directly to the NBSE office or can send it through registered post by May 30.
