NBOADD floats hope for Naga businessmen

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Naga Business Owners Association of Dimapur District (NBOADD) was formally launched today in the presence of over 160 local entrepreneurs and host of public leaders. It is the realization of a long felt need amongst Naga businessmen in Dimapur to have an umbrella association.NBOADD is a move towards establishing a representative body to address the economic plight of the Naga public. One of its mandates is to take corrective measures to augment the Naga economy in the current scenario and at the same time create opportunities for wannabe entrepreneurs in the near future.
The NBOADD is perhaps the first umbrella association for local entrepreneurs. It also intends to be a platform for entrepreneurs to air their grievances and share their thoughts, for the common good and for a shared prosperous future.
Dimapur being the commercial city of the state and the gateway of Nagaland and Manipur and even beyond, the business body are fully aware of the manner in which the social situation impact business and the market potential.
Along with the launching programme, a new team of office bearers was also formally inducted to serve NBOADD for the tenure 2013-2016. The team is headed by Thungbemo Murry as the chairman and Kepel Keditsu and W. Khape as the co-chairmen. The team includes Dr. Khekugha Muru – general secretary, Mar Longkumer – information & publicity secretary, Luther Anar – finance secretary, Akaho Chophy and Lalboi Wiza as joint secretaries and Mongkum Jamir as treasurer.
Earlier, Naga Council president T Bangerloba Ao exhorted the house, while Dr M.L. Ngullie, Associate Professor of Dimapur Government College, as the speaker, spoke on “Role of entrepreneurs for developing Naga economy.”
The programme, chaired by NBOADD convenor, K Tia Longchar was held at Unity Hall, Naga Council office complex, Dimapur.
