Coinciding with the celebration of a three day Hornbill Bamboo Carnival, Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency (NBDA) today launched its brand name ‘Bazelel’ for its products. The finished products originating from NBDA will bear the tag ‘Bazelel’ for commercial purpose.
Briefing news persons in the sideline of the Hornbill Bamboo Carnival, the Agency Team Member Dr. Tolto said the tag ‘Bazelel’ was derived from Old Testament in the book of Exodus 31 – a person anointed by God who was instrumental for construction of the tabernacle, mercy seat etc. Dr. Tolto said all products originating from NBDA will hereon bear the tag ‘Bazelel’ for commercial purpose. He said NBDA will create market linkage for local craftsmen thereby enabling them get optimum profit out of their products.
With its objective of building lives, Dr. Tolto said NBDA is devoted in promoting bamboo crafts and enterprise around the State, while he confidently added that a success story is in the making.
It may also be mentioned here that NBDA is undertaking enormous developmental changes to make its tag name worth reckoning in the markets under the guidance of Menuolhoulie Kire, an industrial designer from IIT. Some of the ‘Bazelel’ tag products are on display at the Hornbill Bamboo Carnival.
