NBCC resolves to expand world evangelism

Dimapur, Feb. 5 (EMN): Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) has reaffirmed its commitment to continue working towards expanding world evangelism and mission as well as render support and care for those working at the association level and in the local churches.

The resolution to this effect was taken during its 83rd annual general meeting held from January 30 to the February 2nd at Tening village in Peren district on the theme “Stronger together” hosted by Liangmai Baptist Association (LBA).

NBCC also resolved to intercede God’s intervention towards finding a final solution to the Naga political problem.

Even as people around the world are gripped with fear of various life threatening diseases especially the coronavirus, NBCC resolved to mobilise churches to sincerely pray for the world and for the state of Nagaland for His divine intervention.

From the very inception of NBCC, the churches had been committed to fulfilling the Great Commission and working towards sending Missionaries and mobilizing volunteers.

As per the 2019 NBCC/ NMM report from 14 association out of the total 20 associations wherein 14,299 missionaries and evangelists already sent thus far and 1,56,238 volunteers were involved, NBCC further resolved to continue working and enlarge the world evangelism and mission.

True to its theme “Stronger together,” NBCC churches resolved to continue its ministry towards every age group without distinction.

Meanwhile, NBCC has expressed gratitude to the Liangmai Baptist Association for their hospitality towards making the annual general council a success.

The resource persons for the event were Rev. Dr. Hukashe Zhimomi, president of NBCC; Dr Niholi H Shohe, principal of Nito Theological College, Zunheboto; Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho, NBCC general secretary; Rev Dr Elungkiebe Zeliang, HoD of Peace Studies from Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong; Rev Maongkaba Lemtur, mission mobilise of World Evangelisation for Christ; Zuchonthung Ovung, associate pastor of Kohima Lotha Baptist Church; Dr Hovithal Sothu, project director of TaFMA; and Rev Phomlee Van, pastor of Kohima Phom Baptist Church.

Meanwhile, NBCC has installed Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho as the general secretary, Rev Noksa Chiu as finance and property secretarty; Visasieü Dolie, as women secretary; Rev Amop Noklang as NDO director; Rev TW Yamyap as state chaplain; and Moatemsu Walling as principal of Christian Higher Secondary School.

The next 84th AGM would be hosted by the Angami Baptist Church Council (ABCC).
