Dimapur, August 25: A consultation on NBCC Vision 2030 was jointly organised by Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) and Development of Human Potential (DHP), Imphal, at NBCC Platinum Hall, Kohima, from August 23 -25.
The programme started with a keynote address by Rev. Dr. Tamthing, Programme Coordinator, DHP, who in his address, mentioned that the consultation was organised to present a road map for the church which in return could give a clear direction of development for the people.
Other resource persons were Alemtemshi Jamir, Convenor of Nagaland Vision 2030; Nuklu Phom, Executive Secretary of Phom Baptist Churches Association; Kikheto Sema, Secretary of Land Resource; Colo Mero, Director of Life Ministries, Kohima; Dr. Asakho Hibo, Principal of Japfu Christian College; and Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary of NBCC. The topics dealt included “Present development context & scenario of Nagaland and the role of the church,” “Ecological & environmental scenario of Nagaland and the role of the church,” “Socio-economic status of Nagaland today & the role of the church in major development areas,” “Youth renaissance in Nagaland & the role of the church in nurturing the youth in shaping and developing the church and society,” “Gender just development scenario of Nagaland & the role of the church in the area of women empowerment,” and “NBCC- Integrity of God’s creation by 2030.”
Rev. C Lima Sangtam, Executive Secretary of United Sangtam Baptist Churches Association (USBLA), and Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo, Executive Secretary of Chakhesang Baptist Church Council, led the morning devotions.
On the last day, there was a group discussion on “A dream/ wish of people to be picture of 2030” led and facilitated by DHP members. The programme ended with group presentation. Altogether 66 participants attended the programme.
