NBA to take part in senior national basketball c’ship 

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Basketball Association (NBA) has announced selection of the men’s and women’s teams, which will be participating in the 73rd Senior National Basketball Championship, scheduled to take place from December 2 to the 10th in Ludhiana.

The NBA in an update informed that following the rigorous selection trials conducted on October 30 and November 1, a panel of NBA selectors comprising of coaches and officials finalised the final list who will be representing the state.

The selected men’s team includes Salew Kadete (Captain), Seyievizo Kerie (Vice Captain), Nukshizulu Pongen, Thejangulie Mekro, Keneilezo James Tale,  Sentitoshi Jamir, Chumbemo Kikon, Ongnetchanger Longkumer, Neisezo Theunuo, Reo Mero, Keneizelhou Kevin Tale and Kelhoukhrielie Dzuvichu.

The men’s team will be led by Chumbenthung Humtsoe as coach and Neichutuo Rutsa as manager.

The women’s team members are Pelekhonuo Kuotsu (Captain), Kenyuni Keppen (Vice Captain), Reena Rai, Ravolu Nyekha, Lelevino Kere, Lituna Sukhai, Imtilela Walling, Vilatuonuo Angela, Leah Ozukum, Pelekhrienuo Nagi, Thenuneinuo Dzuvichu and Keneiseu Ivy Solo. The team will be led by Ruopfuhetuo Solo as coach and Kivi Swu as manager.

The selected players will be undergoing training and preparation in Kohima under the supervision of the coach and officials of NBA and Kohima District Basketball Association.
