National webinar conducted on ethnobotanical research

Dimapur, July 28 (EMN): North Eastern Institute of Folk Medicine (NEIFM), Pasighat in Arunchal Pradesh organised a national webinar on ethnobotanical research on July 27.

The topic for the webinar was on “Ethnobotanical Research in North East India: Potentiality and Possibility,” an update stated.

Dr. Kenjum Bagra, zoologist, spoke on relevant facts from ethnobotany to ethical issues related to intellectual property right and indigenous right.

Prof. (Rtd.) SK Borthakur, Gauhati University; Dr. PR Gajurel, Nerist, Nirjuli and Dr. Temim Payum, JN College, Pasighat attended the programme as resource persons in the technical sessions. Dr. Amal Bawri, coordinator of the webinar, also addressed the gathering.

Altogether, 100 participants from all the eight north-eastern states and other part of the country participated in the webinar. The workshop ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Imlikumba, medical officer, NEIFM.
