Nagaland State team players display their medals won during the recently concluded 25th National ITF Taekwondo Championship held at Ongole, Andhra Pradesh.

Dimapur, Dec. 28 (EMN): Nagaland State team excelled in the recently concluded 25th National ITF Taekwondo Championship held at Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, on December 24 and 25.

An update informed that the state team won 2nd runner-up title with overall medal tally of 10 gold, three silver and one bronze.

The medalists included Uto Xuivi Zhimomi (two gold), Paul Zeliang (two gold), Pikupu Zhimomi (one gold), Puloto Chophy (one silver and one bronze), Nongothung Shitiri  (one gold and one silver), Tokupu Xuivi Zhimomi (one gold and one silver) and Nito Xuivi Zhimomi (two gold).

Nagaland team also won gold medal in team patterns event.

The events held included Individual sparring, individual and group patterns and special technique. Karnataka bagged overall team champions’ title followed by Andhra Pradesh and Nagaland as first and second runner-ups respectively.
