National Games: 3 gold, a silver for Manipur gymnasts

IMPHAL — Ruban Meitei's near perfect performance in the vault gymnastics with a score of 13.22 earned him a gold medal at ongoing 37th National Games at the Peddem Sports Complex, Goa. Ruban had already won a silver in the floor exercise.

Earlier, Ariha Pangambam won gold in the individual aerobics. The trio aerobics gymnasts Ariha Pangambam, Anjori Pangambam and Leishilembi Chabungbam also won gold.

Bobby Waikhom, chef de mission, Manipur, said that the state’s gymnastics team's impressive performance with three gold and a silver is an awakening. "Ruban Meitei won gold and silver in the vault and floor exercise. It was a close one,” he said.
