[dropcap]N[/dropcap]ational Digital Literacy Mission was launched in Dimapur by Parliamentary Secretary, Information & Communication Technical Education, Science and Technology and Taxes, Tovihoto Ayemi.
Speaking on the occasion, he informed that the Department of Electronics and Information Technology Government of India has recently approved the Scheme for IT mass literacy to train about 10 lakh person in every eligible household in the country. He said that the initial aim of the mission was to train one person from every household in the age group of 14-60 years.He also mentioned that Nagaland has also taken the opportunity to train about 6600 beneficiaries in the first phase of IT mass literacy programme. He further pointed out that the department has trained village level entrepreneurs in the three districts, Kohima, Dimapur and Peren.
While launching IT mass literacy programme he encouraged the beneficiaries to learn the Computer seriously as it is a necessity of life in the 21st century.
The programmed was invoked by Assistant Superintendent, IT& C, Ketsoseno Tetseo. Opening remarks was delivered by Commissioner and Secretary, IT & C, K.D Vizo. Gist of the Scheme was highlighted by CSC-SPV representative. Special song was presented by VCES of Dimapur and vote of thanks was proposed by Joint Director, IT & C, Er. Thongtiliba Longkumer. The programmed was chaired by Director, IT & C Kevekha Kevin Zehol.
