National Cadet Corps cadets of SJC (A) win commendation card and medal
Dimapur, April 8 (EMN): Two senior wing cadets of National Cadet Corps (NCC) from St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, under 1 Nagaland Girls’ Battalion NCC-Kohima under NCC Group-Kohima, have received the Director General NCC Commendation Card and Medal-2021 on April 6 for their utmost sincerity, dedication and exemplary performance to NCC.
The Director General NCC Commendation Card and Medal-2021 were awarded to SUO Yanchibeni N Kithan and CPL Benchilo Humtsoe. They received the Commendation Card along with a badge and a cash award each.
Associate NCC Officer, Capt. Regina Razousinuo, stated that during the initial stage of the first lockdown in April 2020, the cadets volunteered to contribute towards the fight against Covid-19 through a video of a dance style called ‘Corona Awareness Dance’ (CAD), which received immense attention nationwide and was even featured in NDTV India (Hindi).
The award of DG NCC Commendation Card for the year 2021 was announced on the occasion of NCC Day on November 26, 2021, and the cadets were conferred the award on April 6 by Brig. Praveen Singh Sagwan, Group Commander, NCC Group-Kohima.
Meanwhile, the management and staff of the college have extended their gratitude to all the officers of the organisation for giving high recognition to the cadets and wished them to continue the noble gesture.
