Kohima, Feb. 2 (EMN): The three-day 60th sports meet of Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) concluded on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Chiephobozou town under Kohima district.
Hosted by Chiephobozou Town Youth Organisation, 29 villages from four groups of NASA participated in the meet.
Attending the closing ceremony as valedictory guest, Neibalie Rio, special officer to the chief minister of Nagaland said that hard work is the key to success.
“Even if you have talent, unless you work hard you will lose your talent,” he said and called upon the youth to work hard to excel in the field of games and sports.
In an exciting football final, NASA-C downed NASA-B 2-1 to emerge as champion.
Kekhriesetuo Khro netted the first goal for NASA-C while the equaliser goal for NASA-B came through the boot of Neihezo Medom.
The winning goal for NASA-C came through Ruokuovolie Phewhuo.
With this, NASA-C received a cash prize of INR 20,000.
Runners-up NASA- B received a cash prize of INR 15,000.
In women’s volleyball, NASA-C emerged as the champion and received a cash prize of INR 15,000.
Runners- up NASA-B pocketed a cash prize of INR 10,000.
NASA-C lifted the champion’s trophy in men’s volleyball and pocketed a cash prize of INR 15,000.
NASA-D stood runners-up and received INR 10,000.
NASA president Lhoubeizo Mere Kesiyie gave away the prizes to the winners.
NASA has announced the selected players for the forthcoming 47th meet of Angami Sports Association, scheduled from Feb. 7 to 8 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima.
