NASAC wrestling meet 2014 underway

A two day long 23rd wrestling meet 2014 of the Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) Group- C got underway at Ziezou Ground, Phekerkriema hosted by Phekerkriema Youth Organization.Altogether, 50 wrestlers are vying for the coveted champion title in Naga style wrestling.
13 wrestlers to vie for individual round in Naga style on January 23 included; Kekhriesilie (Zhadima), Kevizalhou (Zhadima), Mhasiletuo (Zhadima), Ruokuolie (Phekerkriema), Kevilephre (Phekerkriema), Dietholhoulie (Phekerkriema), Viphrezo (Phekerkriema), Ravokhrieo (Nerhema), Thekru Neisa (Nerhema), Dziesekhrietuo (Nerhema), Kelhousilie (Nerhema) Ruokuosalie (Nerhe Model) and Thejasetuo (Meriema).
Gracing the inaugural function as the chief guest, D.P. Angami, former deputy chairman Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) stressed on the need to popularize the game of wrestling as it is the most important and the biggest traditional game of the Tenyimi community in the state.
He advocated that wrestling platform should be used as a kind of festivity and helps strengthen peace, unity and better understanding amongst the people.
The inaugural function was chaired by NASA Group C vice president Ketholetuo Chietsü while welcome address was delivered by Ziezou VCC Thinuonei-o.
Kevipusa Kezieo, president NASA C delivered presidential address while administration of oath to the wrestlers was done by wrestling secretary Zhabu Miario. Earlier, Lhouvio Khubve, pastor Ziezou Baptist Church pronounced invocation prayer while Ruokuovotuo Pfüsenuo presented special number.
Meanwhile, National style wrestling will also take place on day two for both male and female.
The valedictory function will take place on January 23 at 12:00 noon with Neiketouzo Kenguruse, president NASA as the guest of honour.
