NASA Group-D meet commences

The three-day 22nd Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) Group-D Games & sports Meet commenced today with Commandant of 11th Assam Rifles gracing the inaugural function as the chief guest at Botsa Local Ground, Kohima.Addressing the gathering, Col Manoj said that music and sports does not have any barrier while it brings people from all walks of life together.
It does not follow any caste, creed or tribe but always brings humanity together, he said while expressing that these two things are abundantly available among the Naga youths. He therefore hoped that the Naga people will shine in higher levels of competition.
He also asserted that the Assam Rifles will continue to the support the villagers in every possible manner through its Civic Action programe. Col Manoj also unfurled he NASA Group-D flag while also releasing the memento.
NASA-D comprises of 11 villages Botsa, Seiyhama, Chiechama, Touphema, Gariphema, Gariphe Basa, Tsiemekhuma, Teichüma, Seiyha Phesha, Tsiemekhu Basa and Nachama while the event is being hosted by Botsa Youth & Sports Association. Events such as athletics, volleyball and football would be held during the three days while it will conclude on January 17 with NASA Advisor Keduo-o Zumu as the guest of honour.
Chaired by NASA Group D general secretary Thepfükhrietu Rüpreo the inaugural session commenced with 22 gun shots while Pastor of Baptist Church Botsa Rev. Rüdilhou Rio said the invocation.
NAA Grup-D President Kechangulie Kense delivered the presidential address while secretary games Methavilie Pielie administered oath to the participants. Folk tune was presented by Botsa Women Organisation and special number by Vilakhonuo Keditsu.
