The 24th three-day Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) Group-C Games & Sports Meet commenced today with Roko Angami, Football Coach and PS to MLA 11th Northern Angami-II Assembly Constituency as the chief guest at the village ground here.Addressing the contingents, he exhorted them to give their best in the selected field so as to achieve greater heights. An ardent footballer himself and having played for Mahindra & Mahindra during his young days, Roko said that there used to be a time when someone used to approach the players of any event to play but in the present generation one has to display his/her extra ordinary skill top get selected.
Expressing that sports has become a very lucrative profession for living, he challenged the sportspersons to be disciplined, dedicated and give their best with hard world to excel.
Chaired by NASA-C general secretary the programme commenced with Pastor of Tsiese Basa Baptist Church Lhoukuolie saying the invocation. Tsiese Basa Village Council Chairman Kruzo Mere delivered the welcome address while secretary games Medongulie Keditsu administered oath to the participants.
NASA-C comprises of 12 villages grouped into 10 teams viz: Nerhe Model, Tsiese Basa, Chüziema, Zhadima, Meriema, Phekerkriema, Viphoma, Zhadima, Tsiesema and Nerhema.
The closing function will be graced by President Chakhro Angami Kuda Union, Luolao Üsuo as the guest of honour.
