Narendra Modi meets State BJP workers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the party officials, national council members, district presidents, frontal chiefs and legislators of Nagaland at police conference hall, Chumukedima, Dimapur after his arrival on Sunday evening. In a press note, BJP media cell said the BJP party workers met the Prime Minister after getting approval by the PMO office.
The Prime Minister, in his address to the party workers, saluted their efforts in establishing a BJP base in the state of Nagaland despite facing difficult situations and unseen hurdles.
He also assured of taking the party into confidence in any developmental works to be allotted to the State.
Modi said that it is not necessary for the Prime Minister to grant packages to any states whenever visited while opining that if that trend continues, it would be difficult to bring any development to the country.
However, the Prime Minister said any help required from the Centre, it could be channeled through the budget. He also informed that the BJP after coming to power at the Centre has granted Rs 63,000 crore to the northeastern states for various developmental works.
The Prime Minister opined that in democracy arms and violence has no space and urged the people of the State to seek peace as it is the need of the hour and also because various NGOs and other stake holders want it.
State BJP president Dr. Chuba Ao while welcoming the Prime Minster thanked him for his concern shown to the Nagas by visiting the State within six months after assuming the office.
He also urged the PM to convey to the nation that the Nagas are not hostile to India but are emotionally attached with the Nagas residing in other states like Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and country like Myanmar though divided by manmade boundaries.
Dr. TM Lotha, in his speech, extended gratitude to the central government, the national BJP and Sr. Adv. Satyapal Jain, for the hard work and interest put in disposing the disqualification case of the three MLAs. Parliamentary Secretary Transport Piawang Konyak also addressed the gathering.
