The recent approval of naming the road from Zion Hospital to Khevihe Chophy, Rtd ADC as HK Khullu road at Purana Bazaar village by DPDB which appeared in the local dailies on 12th April 2014 and the objection given by Purana Bazaar Village Council and Model Colony Council, Purana Bazaar village, has caught my attention, as the said road fall under the jurisdiction of Purana Bazaar village and Model Colony, Purana Bazaar village and the naming of the said road without consulting the concerned village seems unjust and unfair, because the consultation and approval of the concerned village council is very much necessary in taking such major decision and its has to be respected by all leaving aside the volume of powers one have. The fact that the road from Zion Hospital to Z Lohe’s residence is an NEC road and the road from Senli Ao, GB’s reswidence, to Khevihe Chophy, Rtd ADC, is a boundary road between Jorapukhuri Colony and Model Colony and the road existed even before HK Khullu settled in Purana Bazaar.
HK Khullu deserves the appreciation of the Purana Bazaar village for helping the village in repairing the said road but naming of the road in his name just because he assisted in the repairing the said road cannot justify the naming of the road in his name because he, being the residence of the village, it is his duty to help the village without taking undue advantage of his position.
It is amusing to see how the DPDB has taken such major decision in approving the naming of the road without consulting the concerned village council and the concerned colony council under whose jurisdiction the road fall and the failing of the DC Dimapur and Chairman DPDB Dimapur in responding to the objection given by the Purana Bazaar Village Council and Model Colony Council. It clearly shows the abusement of power on the part of the concerned person and authority with ulterior motives.
As such, as a concerned citizen of the village I request the concerned authority to take the matter seriously and resolve the issue amicably, so that it does not disturb the harmony and peaceful co-existence of the people of our village.
