Nahlang wins 21 km ‘Asemang – Dimapur Half Marathon’
DIMAPUR — Daniel Lyngdoh Nahlang from Meghalaya won first position in the 21 km ‘Asemang – Dimapur Half Marathon,’ organised by the Ao Students’ Union Dimapur (ASUD), on Saturday.
Nahlang received cash prize of INR 1 lakh, while H Ngaopulou from Manipur, who came second, won INR 50,000. The third position holder Wede T Mero from Nagaland received INR 20,000.
M Nokching Chang and Rinky Kumari Chauan emerged as the winners in the men’s and women’s 10 km marathon, respectively. They both received INR 25,000 each.
In the men’s 10 km marathon, A Marikho was placed second while Tsole Yhokha secured third place, winning cash prize of INR 15,000 and INR 10,000, respectively.
In the women’s 10 km marathon, Makak Mayum Minarashi and Cekro Talü secured second and third positions, respectively.
The marathon featured around 1000 runners.
Earlier, Advisor for Labour and Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer, flagged off the event.
