The Northern Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (NAGOK) today held its first general conference-cum-foundation day with Parliamentary Secretary for Law & Justice, Land Revenue and Labour & Employment, Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire as the chief guest at Hotel Vivor, Kohima.Addressing the gathering, Dr. Nicky called upon the over 600 NAGOK members to be sincere and regular in attending their offices and delivering goods in the service of the people.
He said that as gazette officers they should try to lead the people by example and not just in talks. He maintained that as officers or heads in the departments they should not try to involve in making their own decisions but always take the decision of the government, which will be upheld.
Dwelling on the motto of the organization, “In the service of people”, he encouraged the NAGOK members to work for the welfare and upliftment of their own people and also see the measures for the welfare of their respective villages.
Expressing that though NAGOK is in a nascent stage, the members should remain united and grow steadily for the general welfare of the Angami community. He also encouraged them to stand firm on their motto and try to perform better in the service of people.
The Parliamentary Secretary also released the NAGOK constitution on the occasion.
Presidents of Angami Public Organisation (APO) Keniengunyü Sekhose, Northern Angami Public Organisation (NAPO) Vilie-o Rutsa and Angami Gazetted Officers Krotho (AGOK) Kekhrielhoutuo Nakhro also exhorted the gathering.
Chaired by NAGOK president K. Neibou Sekhose the programme commenced with Pastor of Union Baptist Church Rev. Dr. Rachülie Vihienuo saying the invocation. NAGOK general secretary Dr. Neilasa Sopfü delivered the welcome address while vice president Thepfusalie Guozi tendered the vote of thanks. Special number was presented by Dr. Viketuolie Pienyü.
