NAGC felicitates meritorious students

Dimapur, May 8 (EMN): Naga Adolescent Girls Club (NAGC) has felicitated successful candidates of HSLC and HSLLC on May 8 at Christ King Higher Secondary School, Kohima, on the theme “Be focused, be bold and dream big.” The felicitation programme was organised by the State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW).

In her address, NSSWB chairperson, Bano Vinito, congratulated the students and teachers on their achievement and stated that education is not just about textbooks. She stressed on the need to look beyond with an attitude to achieve success in life. Terming passing high school as just the beginning, she impressed upon them to be more mature and responsible persons.

Bano also encouraged the students to continue working hard by focussing in their studies and not be distracted by the worldly things. Stating that there is no shot cut to success, she called upon the students grab any opportunity that comes on their way.

She encouraged the girls to focus on their education so that one could stand strong and empowered and be economically independent.

“When one does well in life, no one will dare to look down on you or take advantage,” she said.

Altogether, seven schools namely Christ King School, TM Higher Secondary School, Oking Christian School, Modern School, Mezhur Higher Secondary School, Bayayvu High School and Mewi Higher Secondary School attended the felicitation programme.

The programme was chaired by SRCW coordinator, Gracy Aye, while the welcome address was delivered by SRCW assistant state coordinator, Juliana Medom and the invocation was pronounced by SRCW research officer, Meneno. Special song was presented by NAGC coordinator, Khriezotuolie Chase. The vote of thanks was delivered by MSK district coordinator, Kesoneinuo Kense.
