Nagaland’s weekly Covid sample positivity rate dips to 1%

Dimapur, March 5 (EMN): The weekly sample Covid-19 positivity rate in Nagaland has declined to 1.0% from 1.9%, with 22 new cases detected from 2,138 samples in the week ending March 4.

The sample positivity rate has remained below 5% for the last two weeks, according to weekly bulletin issued by the department of Health and Family Welfare.

The update informed that three Covid-19 deaths (Dimapur-2, Kohima-1) were reported from the week and all of them had associated comorbidities and only one was found to be fully vaccinated.

“Vaccination of high-risk groups remain the most important preventive measure against hospitalisation or death,” it stated.

A total of 15.56 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered across all age groups, including 22,766 precautionary, it said.

As many as six new admissions were recorded from Covid-19 hospitals during the week.

It went on to inform that 1,003 cases were recorded in February against 2,203 in January this year.
