Lenti Aier from Nagaland has been awarded the prestigious SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence at Empire State University in New York.

DIMAPUR — Lenti Aier from Nagaland received the State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence on April 27.
The award ceremony was held at the Albany Capital Center, New York, in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and contributions to the university community, stated an update.
This award is the highest honour that can be bestowed upon a student by the university across 64 colleges and universities combined in New York State.
The award recognises SUNY students who have successfully incorporated SUNY excellence into various aspects of their lives, including academics; leadership; diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice; research and development; campus involvement; civics and service; and the arts, alongside the ability to lead, give back to their campus community, and harness their creativity to serve as role models for their peers.
Lenti Aier is a student at Empire State University in Saratoga Springs, New York. She will graduate on May 20 with a Master of Science in Applied Behaviour Analysis and is a candidate for the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board and New York State Licensed Behaviour Analyst.
She has previously worked with the Devereux Foundation in New York as an assistant programme manager. The foundation provides services for individuals with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities, and emotional or behavioural differences across the United States. Programmes include residential treatment, day schools, and community-based care.
Closer home, Lenti Aier is the founder and president of the Act of Kindness Society in Dimapur, Nagaland.
