Nagaland’s Covid-19 tally reaches 1030

Dimapur, July 21 (EMN): Nine more Covid-19 positive cases were reported on Tuesday, taking the tally of Nagaland to 1030 so far.

“Out of 239 samples tested, nine positive cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed. Six in Dimapur, two in Mon and one in Peren,” the minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, tweeted. Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 485 patients as ‘recovered’ till date with 545 active cases in the state.

According to Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, a total of 19,118 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR till date.

“Results of 18,246 samples have been received. Out of these, a total of 11,446 samples have been tested at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima and out of which 340 samples have tested positive. At the BSL-2 lab at the CIHSR, Dimapur, a total of 2,946 samples have been processed and out of which 285 samples have tested positive.

“In addition, a total of 12,664 samples have been sent for testing on TrueNat. 11,931 samples have tested negative, and 391 samples have tested positive which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR. A total of 2,774 persons are presently under facility quarantine,” he informed.
